Sian Bishop's Story - Gelato Messina

For a third year in a row, Gelato Messina have once again joined forces with us to help share moments of connection and joy to women and children living in crisis.

Launching over the 16 Days of Activism - a global campaign for the prevention and elimination of gendered violence - our SCOOPS FOR GOOD campaign is back by popular demand, helping to raise awareness and life-changing funds for women rebuilding their self worth and independence after homelessness and domestic violence.

This year’s special collab flavour is 'BEYOND THE ROCKY ROAD' - a milk chocolate gelato with Marshmallow, Strawberry Gum Purée and a Macadamia Crunch. This flavour is an acknowledgment of the long, hard road travelled by women who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness - a road that Two Good Co try to help make a little smoother.

Rolling out across Gelato Messina stories nationally on the 26th November, you can now taste a little bit of Two Good's maguc all across Aus - as well as a whopping 1,000 scoops to donate to women's refuges.

This campaign is also supported by a range of GIFTS FOR GOOD product collaborations, offering high quality, impact-led gifts that create a lasting impact long after the Christmas tree has been packed away, with 50% of all profits reinvested into empowering and employing vulnerable women.

In celebration of this campaign's third year, we spoke to Sian Bishop, Head of Brand + Marketing at Gelato Messina, on the intentions behind their commitment to collaborating with us once again.

WHAT IS MESSINA'S ETHOS, WHEN IT COMES TO COMMUNITY ACTIVITY AND SUPPORT?

"Messina's values are built on being a family – related by blood or not. We run our business the way we’d want to be treated and strive to give back to the community that has supported us from the beginning.

Messina and Two Good share a deep commitment to kindness and compassion. We both believe in creating meaningful change, whether it’s through offering practical support or providing opportunities. The idea of doing good for the sake of good is something that aligns perfectly with us.

Whether it’s through local initiatives, donations, or partnerships, we aim to use our platform to make a difference and bring a little joy, particularly to those who need it most. It may just be a scoop of ice cream, but it’s amazing to see what that scoop of kindness can do to someone’s day.

HOW DID THE PARTNERSHIP FIRST BEGIN, BETWEEN MESSINA AND TWO GOOD?

"Our partnership with Two Good started small, but as we worked together, the synergy between our teams grew naturally. Now in our third year, it has evolved into an incredibly rewarding collaboration with shared campaigns, fundraising efforts, and unique product ranges that allow us to make an even greater impact together.

We’ve particularly loved having the Two Good Work Work team come into Messina HQ to help us with the production of products we’ve made for the collaboration. It’s been amazing to see our teams working side by side."

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE TWO GOOD COLLAB MOMENT, TO DATE?

"It’s hard to choose, but one of our favourite moments was the Messina x Two Good cracker assembly line we did last year. Messina’s team and Two Good’s team joined forces to assemble the crackers in record time. There was something really special about being in the same room after so much planning and organisation – it was a moment of pure teamwork and connection."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT IN THIS YEAR'S MESSINA X TWO GOOD RANGE?

"The Two Hugs Bear 'n' Bar Set is my favourite this year. Maybe it’s the era I’m living in, but it perfectly portrays comfort, hope, and a little bit of deliciousness all in one. Plus, I’ve had SO many people trying to steal my sample Teddy when they see him, so I know it’s going to be a big hit!"

WHY DO YOU CONTINUE WORKING WITH TWO GOOD?

"Because the work Two Good does is nothing short of inspiring – and so are the people who work there. Their dedication to helping women rebuild their lives and fostering long-term change resonates deeply with us.

Being part of that journey and knowing we can contribute, even in a small way, is a privilege we’re honoured to continue. Just last week, our events team visited Two Good and came back brimming with new ideas and ways to collaborate further. It’s always a pleasure."

WHAT DOES 'GENDER EQUITY' MEAN TO YOU?

"Gender equity is about ensuring women have access to the same opportunities as everyone else and creating a world where everyone can thrive outside of the constraints society has placed on us. As a mum of a young boy, it’s particularly important to me that he is raised to understand how vital gender equality is and how he can contribute to creating positive change."
