HAPI'S STORY.

Hapi's Story | Two Good Co.

WORK WORK.

"I love it at Two Good. It’s helped me grow and has given so much self esteem and confidence that I thought I didn’t have before.

It inspires me to be a better person and believe in myself more. What I’m doing now is good; it’s not just a job, it’s a bigger picture for me. I’m part of a team, and I feel that every day; I love the work I’m doing.

When I guide our corporate vollies on our shelter meal cook days, I’m proud that I’m part of this team. I’m proud to do my part and let them know that I’m here to guide them to do the work safely, in a space they can feel supported…and connected.

My heart and soul are more open.

When I first started, I was really quiet; I wouldn't interact that much. I let my fears hold me back – I was scared of being judged, or not living up to this standard I set for myself. I didn’t want anyone to see a vulnerable side of me.

But now, I’m realising it's OK that they know that…that it can actually help. Being vulnerable actually allowed me to find my voice, and express myself. I learnt that it’s ok to make new relationships…to let myself grow and connect with other people. Now, I've got so much connection with the team.

Without Two Good, I’d still be that person that'd close myself off and not give myself these opportunities to grow and learn…thank you so much.

...I feel like I'm living up to my name, now.

FOOD IS MORE THAN FOOD.

“Food has always been a passion for me. I’ve worked in small cafes and stuff before, but my dream was always to work for a company that gives back.

Knowing where the food is going - and why I’m doing it - makes me so proud to put my work uniform on.

It touches my heart that they're getting a meal…I’ve been in that situation, when it’s hard to keep up with bills and it’s all catching up. I remember getting those shelter meals. It gave me such a warm feeling, knowing that someone took the time and put in real effort - put their heart and soul - into making sure it was a good meal. Not just fast food, or those on-the-go foods…a proper, healthy meal. A ‘home’ meal.

The way Two Good thinks about health with the food they cook, too – I’m learning so much. My moods used to get the best of me, after eating the junk food I used to eat – it’d always slow me down. But when I came here and started eating their lunches, I was full but I didn't feel heavy - I wasn't weighed down by it anymore.

It inspired me to do better for myself at home. My diet has gotten so much better and I’ve really cut down the sugar that I’d normally have.

My confidence has grown, my energy is lasting so much longer.…my appetite for life has changed.
