Emily joined Two Good Co’s journey to the bushfire ravaged community of Quaama in December 2020, to host a Community Cooking Class & Christmas Lunch. Inspired by the landscapes and stories of resilience after such tragic magnitudes, she painted five stunning artworks for Cookbook Two; a book filled with recipes of resilience and stories of courage.
“LIKE TWO GOOD, I BELIEVE FOOD CAN BE A VEHICLE OF HOPE.
In Quaama, I got to meet some incredible humans, people who had suffered greatly, people who had lost and grieved, people exhausted…but mostly, they were a community of resilience.
I wanted to work on this project and create artworks that could speak of the beautiful, vivifying forces of ecology, and the life sustaining elements found within the land.”
